Good for you, Schlomo!  :)

You know it's already fall when the pineapples in the fruit market are being replaced by pumpkins.

Definitely not Belgium. In Germany people ask me all the time what the hell is going on. Most of them don't know we speak Dutch, French and German. They always say "Oh, you speak Belgian then?". And then the looks on their faces when I say there is no such thing.

There are some Eels songs I like less, but the one that makes me say "oh no" out loud everytime is Hey man, now you're really living. It's like E thinks he needs to rock a kindergarten or something, it's ridiculous. I'm not too fond of the short instrumental things either.

I just seem unable to get into audio books. I just like words on paper more, I can't help it.

Currently i'm reading Beautiful Losers by Leonard Cohen. Quite a good read but i like his songs better  :)

Oh, tell me if it's worth purchasing =) I read Tom Lanoyes Sprakeloos, which is a thing of beauty. Last week I read Mieses Karma by David Safier - easy summer reading. Now I'm reading The gun seller by Hugh Laurie (one is a fan of the man or one isn't) and at the same time Het derde huwelijk by Tom Lanoye (my favourite Belgian author). In Cologne is Von Bismarck bis Hitler awaiting me.

And the stalker award goes to... Jens! I've been very busy idd in the last few months. I wrote my thesis, I graduated as a translator, moved to Cologne etc. Luckily there's always a new album to get back to you guys =)

I missed out on the Eels (you can all shoot me now) to see Leonard Cohen. It was the best concert I have ever seen. I read that Eels was pretty nice too. And they sold a lot of copies from Hombre Loco I heard  ::)

I redecorated my room today. Or rather, I put new pictures in my picture frames. Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Buster Keaton, Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman - Oh yes! Picture on twitpic.

Oooh, me likey! Very classy, Ally =)

I have tickets to see Leonard Cohen in Ghent in August! It's on the same day as Eels, but lately I have more sympathy for Mr. Cohen and the chances that E lives longer as him are quite bigger as the opposite ^^

Language? Is Holland dutch that strange to you Flemmings? :P

Don't get me started, you pushy people from the North  :P We actually have to learn Dutch words because editors don't want any Flemmish in translated books. So we have to study lists like:
"zeg niet 'mager soepvlees', maar 'jeugdvlees'", "zeg niet 'aftrekker', maar 'vloerwisser'" (no, Micky, no!)
In fact, Jeroen Brouwers calls Flemmish 'taalschurft'. I'm sure you understand I have to be a linguistic rebell.

(I'll stop now.)

The other language you might have seen was serbo-croatian without diacritics, which is my father's family's language.

That's what I wanted to know, indeed  :)
