I've paid more to see the eels before (but it also included a stay in Melbourne, so there were other benefits). It was also my first and second time, so I still had that giddy 'I-was-an-eels-concert-virgin-not-too-long-ago' aura about me. These days I probably wouldn't pay it.

I know it's a cultural experience but maybe people can try it as a snack/lunch during the day instead? I would much prefer to sit down at a restaurant for dinner (Wagamama as Mickey mentioned is good for me, or if people want something Dutch then some place else is fine too). It's just that we will have been walking the whole day and we're going to want to sit. I suffer from back pain and am already worried about standing up at the concert so it will be even worse for me if we can't sit to eat before going to the eels. 

On a less whiny note, I'm very much looking forward to meeting all you old chummy chums.

I'm still alive (and for the record, even if I were locked in the basement, I would be very well fed! It's like a mini supermarket in there).
