Sorry, that question wasn't directed at me, was it?
Welcome Cesco, sorry to butt in, maybe you have a better translation than me...

Welcome to the forums, Cesco!

Are you able to give me a proper translation of the first paragraph of that review?:

Quote

My own terrible French is only raising more questions than it answers. I'm especially interested in what they are saying is the last chance for many fans to... fall in love with the common future?
Is it saying that Hombre Lobo through to End Times was a departure from 'traditional' Eels music and lots of fans aren't sure they like the direction the band is taking?

It's basically saying this album was the last chance for fans to carry on their love affair with the band after the trilogy, of which that writer thinks the only decent album was End Times.

It also refers to Daisies as sugary pop. Hmmm.

Strange question but I often wonder how long people lurk before joining.

That's something I always wonder too because I was lurking a little while before I plucked up the courage to sign up.

Hey Bart, welcome :)

nice line-up though...  I've repeatedly missed Pokey LaFarge's uk dates for the past 2 years so I'd have to go see them too if I do buy tickets,  and Dinosaur jr,  hmmmmm.

Come to EOTR!
It's £30 cheaper than Latitude, apart from one or two acts the line-up is better and if you can get yourself to Salisbury or Bournemouth I can easily give you a lift to the site.
Also there is a certain band playing that's mentioned on here occasionally. They're a little dodgy but I kinda like them...

the band / Re: random EELS thoughts!

I went to three dates on the latest tour and not once did I hear a track from my favourite album. Yet I still came away happy.
How does that work?

It was played at Bournemouth too. Think it's been cropping up every now and again.

My de-facto boss, whose job i've been doing (unpaid) as well as my own for the last year, quit while I was in Amsterdam.
Today I laughed in the face of the person who has taken over her title but is leaving me with all the extra unpaid responsibility as he described his plans for the future of the office.
I couldn't help myself, what he has decided to do is beyond ridiculous.
I now fear my days at work are numbered, mainly  because of the laughing.
This is not in the complaint thread because I'm waaaaay beyond that.

39
I'm booked.  8)

Now where the bloody hell is my tent?

Also, the company  IT bloke turned up while I was doing my little dance. I was so excited I played him a few songs and videos while he was trying to work.
I think I made a convert...

Just checked the festival site. Tis true. Was considering this festival so will be buying my ticket tonight.

Have been trying to figure out how to cope with the comedown of no longer having eels gigs to look forward to.

(Yes I have started my ticket-buying dance of joy)

I think I can tell you.
It will have me shrieking, cheering, whooping, clapping, whistling and woo-hooing between tracks and hollering tunelessly along to any actual songs.
Sorry. Didn't realise anyone was recording close by until I was told afterwards :-[

At least I was a bit further away during the last encore so I haven't wrecked it all...

Siena and Verona should definitely be on your list, both gorgeous. I studied in Florence for a while and while it can be amazing, it is also so rammed with tourists from April onwards it's hellish. Ditto Venice.
A really lovely place is/are the Cinque Terre, five tiny villages (Riomaggiore, Manarolo, Coniglia, Vernazza and the other one) north of Pisa that cling to the cliffs. Not sure how accessible they are by car, we took the train.
