Just finished my first listen through, great job everyone! High standards throughout.
On first listen my favourite voices are 6teenwishes and mikeul25. As for favourite songs, eep, I don't thik I can pick them after one spin. Give me time...

Huge thankyou to Berni for putting it all together. Give yourself a pat on the back, or a beer or two, you done good!  :)

A lot of great tracks on there. It'll certainly get some more airtime around here.

Listened a few times now... agree with those who said the quality is amazing, so is the range of material performed and the range of styles it was performed in. I'm truly humbled to be in such talented company.

Fave track righht now - (and there are so many I could choose as highlights) Johnny P's "Flyswatter". There are more tasteful and more musicianly recordings on there, but the sheer giddy chaos of this one made me grin widely and do an embarassing little dance on Bristol Temple Meads platform 9. More power to your magical exploding drummer, sirs.

I have to agree with you Tehdai, Johnny P's version of Flyswatter is pretty cool, I like the garage style of it.
I also loved the " deviant " ones, the ones that try to get away from the original version : Ryen Slegr and Anders Ohrn, Tehdai ( Teenage Witch ! Woo-hoo ! ), Ramon Q Volz, Valentino Gianni, and Kevin Burgess ( Aw Yeah ! )
Everyone did a really good job, I'm glad to see there are lots of fans who sent something.
I am honored to be with all of you on this song collection

Those songs have all turned out pretty great! I especially like the ones that try something different with the music. Mr Jonny P's Flyswatter is pure genius, indeed! Your Beloved Monster is pretty great, too, Moe! Reminds me of the live versions the Eels do of "I Like Birds"!

I also like Ally's Daisies (so vulnerable!), Sammy Oats' "That Look" and Ale's "Beginner's Luck".

But really all of those songs are great!  ;D
Oh Max Schmelling was a formidable foe/The Ambling Alp was too at least that's what I'm told

been meaning to reply to this for weeks, so sorry in the delay.

anyway, thanks for the positive comments, they genuinely feel good. I was honestly very reluctant about the quality of the song, but was desperate to submit it! The recording took about 80 minutes, an hour for the drums, the rest was almost done on first take. Although i'm not proud of the quality, i love listening to it, so i'm glad i'm not alone.

Unfortunately, I haven't taken the time to listen to both sets of songs, so I can't comment on the album yet. Looking forward to i though. Will probably be an christmas day  :-\

Hi there. I've been told I must make some sort of communication or my account will expire.

I guess this may be the best place but I hope I don't offend by resurfacing an old thread.

My name is Elis Reed (so why the strange display name? - don't ask). I think I should start by saying a massive thank you to Berni and any others involved in the creation of the Tribute album for including my addition. I thoroughly enjoyed listening through the CDs again recently so thank you for letting me be a part of that great project!

Thanks also for those kind words many moons ago in this thread, particularly Ally, GreatMistake and of course Berni. It's a great feeling to think somebody has enjoyed the product of my efforts as I usually just record for pleasure and to relax, much like most of the others I expect.

I've got a few bits uploaded here snipurl.com/elismusic and as my exams are over this Friday I'll be having a lot more time to enjoy making more music! [So roll on the 4th album!!]

Thanks again and best wishes,

Elis

You know there are much worse fans tributes out there, than our efforts!

Yeah, like 'A Tribute to Elliott Smith'.
I paid money for that and it is completely unlistenable.
And that's not even fans in their bedrooms.....it's, according to the website, "some of the best Independent bands from all over the world."

Anyway about this album....I'm totally ashamed to say I didn't know it was finished yet. Shows how often I read this section  :-[ Gonna go listen to it now.
