Is just noise.

Atmospheric noise, but still. Noise.

There's one Blinking Lights instrumental I like better than Apple Trees, but I can never remember the titles of the instrumentals. My memory lives on lyrical cues to remember titles.
"Blinking Lights (for you)"?
Goddamn right it's a beautiful day!

No, I looked up which one it was. Dusk: A Peach in the Orchard.

Aah yes, that's one awesome song. I really love that one too :) And Blinking Lights (For You), though I don't like it as much as Blinking Lights (For Me). I'm selfish, I know.

I dunno, I always thought the instrumental version of Blinking Lights was kind of a waste of space. I like the concept, but I'd have liked an extra new song instead.
Now we can relax.

I know, but the more new Eels songs, the better.

Well, unless they're like Baby Genius. I know some people hate Man Up, or Wrong About Bobby, or What's A Fella Gotta Do and stuff, but I think those tracks are fine. Sub par, but totally listenable. but there is only one Eels song I really dislike and that's Baby Genius. I don't know why.
Now we can relax.

I used to hate "What Is This Note?" but now somehow I like it.

I like the end of the song, when it becomes acoustic. But the beginning is too noisy in my opinion.

There are a few songs that are -to me- "hard to listen at the beginning" like :

Cancer for the Cure
What is this Note ?
Baby Genius
Souljacker part I
Lilac Breeze
What's a fella gotta do

and there are other songs that I can't easily press the play button :

Understanding Salesman
...

But for most of them, once you listened the first 30sec it becomes "easier" that's my feeling ^^

In the case of "Cancer for the cure", I think it's a very good song and all the noise with radiators and screaming guitars is justified.
"Baby genius" is strange to listen to. I don't love it but anyway.
"Lilac breeze" and "what's a fella gotta do" are OK to me. But I really like "Understanding salesman"

I learnt not so long ago that the song "Me and my PC" I had found many years ago on p2p was not an Eels song. I always thought it was an unreleased track. The music was so weird that I never had any doubt it could be an E experiment...

Souljacker Part 1 is, to my ears, by far the finest Eels "rock" song. Everything about it is wonderful. And I note that you still hear it on films and TV trailers 7 years after it was released.

Yes, but there is eels' songs that I can listen approximately anywhen, for those songs I must be "in the mood" that's all, but I do love them.
